Calendario-Nous

Independent space dedicated to experimentation, BUILDINGBOX becomes a space for dialogue with the visitor, who can observe from the transparency the unfolding of an exhibition that expands over time, evoking a different concept of space.

The exhibition consists of an uninterrupted succession of site-specific installations at irregular intervals, the result of unpredictable interventions.

Like a living being, the exhibition project will grow and change over the course of the year, with successive additions and subtractions of certain elements, following its own life course.

During the exhibition, curated by Annette Hoffmann, I will explore the concreteness of time through the concepts of calendar and νοῦς, the “threshold” between outer and “inner” space, materialising a time that is not the traditional counting of minutes but an “unfolding”.

«Letizia Cariello’s first site specific installation Chirone invites the viewer from the street to become part of Letizia Cariello’s world. It is an invitation to enter a gate that marks a transitional temporality that the artist seeks to inscribe into the very passage of movement, space and time. The artist turns BUILDINGBOX into its own universe with planets and a constellation which reminds Chirone, the benevolent centaur and physician of the soul who heals others to heal himself. An unpredictable succession of other site specific installations will follow dictated only by the artist’s time and creative process.» – Annette Hofmann
